Big Picture, Shepherds Bush, W14 0BL
ASP Developer / I.T. Support
This is a field-marketing agency that sends field representatives into electronics and computer retailers on behalf of I.T. based clients (such as Adobe, Texas, Intel, Tiscali, Sony, Hauppauge and OneTel).
When I joined the company there was no I.T. infrastructure; users queries were just emailed to the relevant person rather than being logged onto a system. I took the initiative to create a web-based application using ASP and SQL Server. This allowed users to log problems, which was then prioritised as I administrated the helpdesk. When a problem was logged the administrator and user would receive emails when the status of the query changed.
25 users with Windows XP and Office 2003
1 Windows 2003 server with IIS6 Web server
1 Exchange 2003 Server
1 SQL 2000 Server
1 Fax server
1 Router
5 VPN users
Project: Internal I.T. Helpdesk
When I joined the company there was no I.T. infrastructure; users queries were just emailed to the relevant person rather than being logged onto a system. I took the initiative to create a web-based application using ASP and SQL Server. This allowed users to log problems, which was then prioritised as I administrated the helpdesk. When a problem was logged onto the system it generated an email notifying me of what has been logged. It was then prioritised, and assigned it to a relevant person with the task. Once the query had been dealt with, the user automatically received an email notifying them that the problem had been fixed. This provided quick resolution of problems and necessary fixes in the I.T. department.
